    That is true but I want one of them to be rejected and by not responding to FP and stopping payment on checks I am trying to exactly that.

    Rather than you taking a decision on this, let USCIS decide how to proceed with your case.

    Good find - shows the plight of legal immigrants.

    A bit of nitpicking - actually the chart is underestimating the time for EmploymentBased / skilled immigrants wait - says 11-16 years to get citizenship sort of suggesting 16 years is the worst case scenario to get citizenship. Its a bit underestimate especially for people coming from India/China. I have seen many people (including me) on these forums who entered US "legally" ten years ago and still waiting for GC with no idea when they would finally get it. Some of them might finally get citizenship 20 years after entering the country "legally".

    On the whole it shows the reality of legal immigration and its waiting times.
    Interesting one..but folks in washington will continue taking us for granted....unless we show them serious intent...

    Hell, ALl they care abt is big corporations...even ahead of their own citizens...Wall St over Main St...
    Bailout plan to be approved soon.......We areno where in the picture....even lawmakers know the realiy of this article...but its all about "show me the money"

    Both of the following are about 500KB, so beforewarned...

    I put a smaller beetle macro into the front-page gallery area, but here's a couple others.

    1 Upclose and personal with a dandelion.

    2. The same lens, used conventionally for a landscape. I printed this out at 19x13 and it's going to get framed.

    This is a perfect example of creating more problems for everyone including yourself. IF everyone applies 2 H1 just to make sure there probability increases the overall probability of one getting H1 stays the same. The problem comes when someone plays by book and applies only one H1. By your action his probability is decreased. This is something my conscious won’t allow. When i was applying a H1 i had option to go for a regular H1 or last years left over masters Quota (The first year masters Quota opened, USCIS started accepting applications in Jan for that already started fiscal year). I decided to go for the Masters one so that i don’t use up a number from the coming year's regular or masters quota .. i could have saved money staying on OPT but i did not
    Moral of the story .... please think about ur actions and be considerate to others. We is stronger then me.

    Legally if a person has a valid h1 approval and a valid h1 stamp on his passport and is getting paid and has all pay stubs , does an IO sitting at POE have any right to send back the person ?

    This also applies to the same situation wherein, the question posters m-in-law has valid documents and is coming back on visitor visa - provided she carries all her docs , does the IE have legal rights to send back the person at POE.

    If IO does not allow the person at POE wat rights as a visitor / non immigrant (h1b) / immigrant (EAD) has and what should one do at POE if we are not allowed in.

    We really appreciate your time and effort for replying to our questions on this forum.

    I think this is the opportunity that we should not miss ... lets start a letter or flower campaign to reach the member of the sub-committee. I am sure IV must be participating in this hearing.

    On a slightly different note: Its not important that who reported it first. We are not playing a TRP rating game between immigration-law and IV. As long as our goals are same, and we all fight for a common cause, its just irrelevent who reported the news first.

    I had my h1-b interview in Toronto on January 4, 2008 and got 221g yellow for administrative review. I called DOS one week ago for processing status and was told that name check is on pending. I called DOS today and was told that security check is on pending. Could you please let me know usually how many checks the DOS will do? How long the security will be done?

    One more query..If H4 visa has expired but I have H4 extension till 2009, can I get H4 stamp in India..

    Yes, You can get your H4 stamped.

    My case traveling in Jan to india, My H4 was expired but I have extension. Can I get it stamped as H4. I will be appying for EAD in Nov 07.

    The old lawyer has to notify USCIS that he is pulling out of your case or the new lawyer has to send the new G-28.

    What if he/she chose not to let USCIS know about it? Basically, you have no options than to hire a new lawyer to file G-28; otherwise USCIS will continue to send correspondence to the lawyer on file. If you don't file new G-28, the old lawyer can get every information on file from USCIS. Read G-28 for more information.

    You are required to send the letter to where your case is filed.

    By the way, for the G-28, it doesn't have to be an attorney right? So, I can get somebody else that I trust to sign them to be my representative. Will this work? If I were to put my own name to be my own representative, is that going to flag them?

    Do you know how much is it to get an attorney to sign the G-28 form? My PD is 3 years away, so I am pretty sure that the attorney won't have to do anything for quite a while (except for signing the form of course). If there are no RFE, the attorney possibly would not need to do anything at all.
