Now on to the subject at hand.
I realized today that I haven't yet shared our dining room all decked out for the holidays. Just like the rest of the house, the dining area's decor is subtle this year, but festive, nonetheless.
I borrowed this idea from Country Living magazine. I was completely smitten when I saw the angel wings on dining chairs in this month's issue. (I shared the article here.) So I had to put a pair on each of the head chairs at our table. Amazingly, my little boys have yet to remove/destroy them.
I used the branches that we cut off the bottom of our Christmas tree to add greenery to our dining chandelier.
My poor dining table is very beat up...and awaiting a redo...so I usually keep it covered with a tablecloth. While I was laundering the cloth last week, however, I put these placemats on the table for our meal, and liked the way that they looked with my Christmas decor so much, that I've decided to leave them for now.
I love this nativity that the Hubby gifted me a few Christmases back. I added a fun free printable - found here - and also added the saying on the chalkboard for extra emphasis of the true meaning of the season.
When we were decorating our house for Christmas on the day after Thanksgiving, Mr. One wrote the line from "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" on our chalkboard...it was so sweet I just couldn't erase it.
Here's a closeup of my winter branch centerpiece. I just found a bunch of branches in the backyard and spray painted them white...then placed them in an oversized vintage canning jar with some faux snow. I added the pretty birds and paper ornaments for a unique statement.
A little cluster of glitter-y trees adds some shimmer to the centerpiece.
You may have noticed that I have a music page theme going on this year. I made all of these fun items with my Silhouette digital cutter. I simply ADORE them. (And just by way of information....you can purchase a Silhouette for yourself and save 20% on all Silhouette products if you click on the Silhouette button on my sidebar.)
