I also got my "Card production ordered" status few days back.
however I also received a mail for biometrics appointment of 05/02?
the biometrics letter date is 4/14 and my "Card production" status change was on 04/21.
why would they send me a biometrics appointment and then approve my 485 and issue me a GC? is this common?
should I still go for the biometrics appointment or just ignore it, I'm assuming that i'd have my physical GC in had before 05/02

Call the phone number under "Contact Us" tab and you will be in touch with people who are volunteers and founders of this org. Talk to them and see what the whole deal is about getting this name check issue into main agenda.

Who is next please? We have spend tons of money from last month.. Can we just contribute $100 for last hope. At least we will feel we gave good fight back..
So far most of us have spent about 2 - 3k, lost invaluable time with stress & had sleepless nights.
DOS & USCIS should not be spared. Lets help IV & try our best to sue them. I just contributed $100.00 and will continue to contribute until the suckers are sued.

I'm surprised only 70 members are interested in accurate prediction of future VB movements, and orderly processing of 485 applications instead of the current random lottery!
It would help lot of us make informed decisions if we were to know how many are in the queue and how long we have to wait.We can spend much of the wasted Tracking, VB prediction time with our families. Don't you think it's important? And that your time is too precious to be wasted over such pursuits?

I filed for 485 during July 2007. My 140 was already approved. Due to some problems I quit my employer in August 2007. My previous employer was a desi blood sucker. I was fed up & decided to quit after working for him for 3 years. I applied for H1 transfer with a new employer based on approved 140. I got H1 approval for another 3 years. Currently I am working for the new H1 sponsoring employer. I also received an EAD card based on pending 485 for one year. I didnt notify USICS of job change in July.
I applied for EAD extension this year. The application for EAD extension is pending. I got a following RFE on my 485:
Please state whether or not you are currently working for your I-140 petitioner.
You must submit a currently dated letter from you permanent employer, describing your present job duties & position in the organization, your proferred position (if different from your current one), the date you began employement & the offered salary & wage. The letter must also indicate whether the terms & conditions of your employement based visa petition (or labor certification) continue to exist, even if you change the employer before 180 days completion of 485 filing.
I am not in good terms with my previous employer so I cant ask him for a letter. I can ask my new employer for such a letter.
Will USCIS come to know I quite Employer A before completing 180 days?
Also is it possible that 140 was revoked by my previous employer?

You quit the sponsorer within a month of 485 filing. No problem. You are still covered under AC21. As per AC21 memo, if your 485 is pending more than 6 months it is still valid, no matter when you chage the job. Forget your previous desi employer. Sumbit the letter from your current employer with all the details that USCIS looking for in RFE. Your 485 will be fine if it is similar job to your previous one. If you are not working for him now dont sent a letter from him. Be genuine. Your lawer should clearly write in the RFE letter that the terms & conditions of your employement based visa petition (or labor certification) continue to exist based on the AC21 law that allows the change of employer.

it is good to hear from Pappu that IV is ready to take up this issue ...but till someone comes foward ..can IV focus on other issues like recapture, removal of country limits etc (there is no shortage of issues where focus is needed)

2) If IV core team agrees to work on everything you want, what are you willing to do? What will be your contribution in terms of time, effort and money?

If I-140 has been approved, would it still be fine to apply for transfer from H1-B to F1 status by using form I-539 & university issued I-20 ? How long does it take to transfer status from H1B to F1 ? When can one start school �. Only after I-539 approval or after only applying ?

EB3-India moved for 15 days. This sucks.
A movement of 15 days in EB3-I is a good movement. Big movement in EB3 without law change is not possible.
FOIA for number of cases per country/category will disclose where we stand but this movement also assures me that we are really past Apr 01 syndrome.

no sir, this is my first PERM ever. I used to work for a big 4 consulting firm and they only apply in Eb3 so moved to another American client company. Just filed 140 this week.

I am tracking the pace at which the FOIA requests are moving forward..
Request #NRC2008064184 moved from
65283 out of 66115 on 11/6/08 to
64565 out of 65477 pending requests on 11/12/08
At this rate, its moving ahead by about 100 requests per day. It will take 2 years to just get these requests cleared. And this particular request was on Track Two. Most others are on the Complex track which might take even longer.. :(

You can also use Mental Rey, and check the "final gather" option. Make sure when you use it you set the rays down to like 10 or 20, or it'll take forever to render.
This will actually make all objects emit a certain amount of light depending on their brightness. For example, a stone wall will not make any noticeable light, but a bright white ball (a light bulb) will act as a omni light. I use this in almost all my renders to achieve a more realistic scene.
That shader glow thing isn't what he wants I think. To add it though, open the attributes of the material, and under the special effects menu you just increase the value from 0. That does not make the object a light though, it adds a glow to the object in post (after the render), and so it does no make any actual light. .... i might be thinking of some other glow thing, soulty's way might work as well
