Just tried, got connected after trying for 4/5 times. Automated response system sucks, its in different languages, but after pressing 1 (for English) still could not get the further menu.
Finally when the call got through the voice quality totally sucked. It is like how it used to be in 1990s with delay and static. Won't use again.

Hi,
What is legally considered as "Permanent Residency approval date" - is it the approval of I485/getting greencard or is it the approval of I140. Sometimes the I140 referred to as an immigrant petition. As we know the process is once this immigrant petition (I14) is approved we apply for adjustment of status as a permanent resident thru II485 - so legally - can we consider that until I485 is not approved, our permanent residence applicaiton is pending?
This is to interpret a reimburse agreement I signed (bad thing to do - but I was naive then and signed a very vague repayment statement). But somewhat good thing is the agreement talks about staying for 2 years "after" the permanent residence is approved. If things get bad - I am hoping that this language might save me. Any thoughts?

I have my company�s lawyer that I have to use but he is not experienced with this. My company wouldn�t be happy if I suggest switching to another lawyer so I need to control this myself.
Actually what I realized out of my experience with GC processing � it�s better to be involved into this process as much as possible.
As per DOL employee should not be involved with this process period.:(

I was trying to find out if it is possible to switch from H1-EAD-H1 all the while staying in the country.
If this switch is possible then will the EAD-H1 switch process be treated as 1 .transfer/ 2.new H1 application(subject to annual quota,lottery)/ 3.something else(recapture)? Though in all the three cases this new H1 will be valid for only whatever time that is left on H1 and not 6 years.
All these days I thought it would be treated as transfer (though there is a gap between the H1).

There is something called as recapturing of lost Days on H1. So for example you were out of USA for some time when you were on H1 you can recapture that period. Try googling "Recapturing of H1".
This way you will not be part of the New quota. Hope this helps

In a meeting when you say that it means you either don't have a clue or you don't want to talk about it as it either is less important than what ever else you have to say or it will only prove how inefficient you are.
However, when you say that to the Senate committee it means that you will have to get back with at least a 3-10 page report. It would have helped had Myorkas been more supportive upfront but what the heck... The Senators already know the answer anyway. They were just asking for support from Myorkas.

All said and done, isn't it safer to just get your H1-B stamped and come back using H1-B visa. This way, there is no doubt. I have an AP, but I am planning to get my H1-B visa stamped when I go to India in January.

All I said was that I was a green card applicant, showed them my I-485 application receipt, and got a license valid for 4 years.

Hey - can you please tell me where you applied for the 4 yr DL. I have always got my DL extended only till I-94 expiry or of late - till my EAD expiry. I renew my DL in Columbus. Can you please share your experience as to where you got your DL renewed?

NSC received my I765 applications on June 21st. I am still waiting for my EAD. I have seen many people from NSC got their approval for the same time frame. Is there anypone in the same boat. Is this something I should be worried about.

I have been following the data for a while and I see a surge in EAD approvals. There are boatload of approvals from 9/24 and 9/25 (Some still pouring in).
If your case reached June21 (Not Jul 21st ?) , you can request an appointment at the local office and they can request a temp EAD card for you. Or since 90 days is over , you may call the 1 800 number.

Got the Receiptts with Date Aug-28 for 485 for all of US.
Also Finished the Finger Printing on 25-Sep-2007.
When can I expect my receipts for EAD and AP?.
Anyone in the same boat?

I wanted to ask IV if there is anything we are doing for people like me.
After frustrated with the consultant company I joined a full time job. and now am 5'th year of H1B. The LC will be applied after 1 to 3 month(big company and there laws as you have to complete 1 year and then adv etc etc)
So If the bill passes I even can't apply for LC and so force to go back after 6 years.
Now as everybody is ready to file for 485 nobody cares about this CIR bill but me only.
Are there ANY people left like me?

I am not sure which location you went to. I went to the infopass in Newark, NJ and I was able to get status on name check. They could not give any other information, but they were able to tell me that my name check was complete.

We got RFE for my wife case too but it specifically mentioned that in the submitted report it was not cleraly mentioned if the skin test was done and so new medical form with TB Skin test( last time the Doctor just did the x-ray) needs to be submitted
