...on the back and the crappy big X with the new space theme that Ive and their ad agency are apparently hot on for some reason that escapes me.
I arrived at 5 and the line already went around the corner and 2/3 down the block. By 6 it went around more than half the park behind.
FWIW, I thought the security was quite good, relaxed but effective.
I am going to guess well over 1200 people there by 6.

While I wish the AppleTV supported DLNA, that's not really directly comparable to AirPlay, is it? DLNA seems to be a "pull" protocol and it seems to be more closely comparable to iTunes Home Sharing.
AirPlay is more of a "push" protocol.

I just bought a Presonus FireBox, but I'm having some problems with it.
I'm on a 2007 MacBook Pro, osx 10.5.8
I plug the unit into the wall, it powers up just fine, red light. I then plug the firewire cable from the Firebox into the FW 400 input on my mac. The light on the firebox goes blue, as though the connection has been established, but the computer doesn't recognize it. I've tried the PRAM/NVRAM reset and SMC reset to no avail.
Under system profiler>hardware, while the FireBox is plugged in, it says,

sorry, but I will never put a case on my iPhone. It was made to look sexy as it is, naked.

Nicely framed flower photo. Good use of DOF to add to the prominence of the subject while allowing the background to have it's own character. You have contrast in the brightness of subject and background which are, intriguingly, complementary colors...:)
I went out to make use of the first bit of sunshine I've seen for ages:

Same issue of lack of sun over here, too. I like the feel of this posed shot. I think it would be a bit stronger if the watch face were more visible. It's kind of hard to tell if the time is the same. Shooting this with something like a pocket watch on the sundial would be interesting, too. Similar shape but different "mechanisms".

Pages 1.0 is typical Apple. Anytime Apple puts out the first version of a product, its really a beta.
And, no, not necessarily because of bugs, but because it lacks the features or speed that a GM product should (ie OS 10.0)

Yes, all your purchases, and downloads should be backed up in iTunes. Actually, when I restore my iPod touch it gives me the option to restore from a backup. (that is, if you ever backed up). After running the backup, it's just like it was before.
If you have never backed up, just click the restore button, then after all is done you should still have an "applications" tab in iTunes which let's you put the apps back on.

Nonsense. Apple is selling a lot of computers right now because Jobs Osbourned the entire PowerPC range just over a year ago by announcing the switch to Intel. For each model of Mac, sales were artificially low before the Intel version was launched, and artificially higher after.
Additionally, people are happer buying Macs if they know they can switch back to Windows if it doesn't work out. One of the major barriers to owning a Mac has been removed by the Intel switch (whatever my misgivings on the subject.)
It's simply ridiculous to argue that the ads have helped sales. Sales would be much higher now than they would have been six months ago even if Apple had stopped advertising completely. The question is whether they would be even higher if they weren't insulting their target audience. The answer, of course, is yes.

The "far east country" (or at least one of them, more earlier) is Australia. The "convention" field listing country TT (Trinidad and Tobago) application 37090 confirms that the Ocean Telecom Services LLC is in all likelihood an Apple shell corporation.

Yeah, tell me about it (looks down at my Quad). But honestly, I think it will suck even more for Adobe, as they are really limiting themselves in the market that they can reach. Come on Adobe, it wouldn't be THAT hard to code according to Apple's Universal standards, would it?
If the CS3 situation is any example, then Adobe would have you believe the answer to that question is "YES". ;)
And yes, there still is a very large PPC user base out there which Adobe will risks alienating with this type of a decision. If they can make CS3 UB, and that's not coming out until spring of how come they can't make SoundBooth (a relatively simpler app compared to CS3) UB as well, which will be released presumably only a few months afterwards? :confused:

I got no good answer for you Lee, I didn't vote for that party. Maybe the minority position of the last two conservative government gave them a softer image than before, maybe it was due to the lack of a strong Liberal leadership, maybe people were tired of going to the polls and wanted a 4 year break... I got 'nothin. :o

On the one hand he is right.
I work in IT, and the iPad to me is just a novelty toy.
I have one an use it for just 2 things(reading the newspaper and watching movies on the train to my work). And for just those 2 things it is rather expensive.
On the other hand the thing I liked the most about OS X, is that is able to be used hardcore-IT people(thanks to being a UNIX) and complete noobs. And this is something I miss in the iPad(for the iPhone I don't care, i have an SSH-app in case of emergency when I'm not near a computer and that's it.
Making couchbrowsers(cause thats what iPads are mostly used for) for non-tech people is good.
But I just hope they still care about tech-savy people in OS X.

Exactly - enlighten us. How do you know why its marketshare has increased as of late? Neither me nor freeny claim that its SOLELY because of the ads - but how can you prove that the ads haven't convinced 1 single switcher...?
I'm not claiming to say that these ads have hurt or helped boost the market shares...I'm only saying that I have only heard negative things about them.
I feel embarrassed watching them.
I personally believe that the market share has risen because of the intel switch. The ads happened to come out at the same time so it's impossible to know how they've affected the market share, but either way I really don't like them. It's not the actors either... definitely the elitist script.
I like that Shaun White ad where he narrates what he does with his computer and this stunt guy (you can only see his torso) is reaching and grabbing at nothing that was edited later to appear as if what he was grabbing at were his folders/documents/songs/etc... Pretty clever. And no snobbishness (yeah that word rocks) either.
Did I mention I like Ellen Feiss?

Just buy a Slingbox and watch any channel you want, anywhere you want.
Ditto! Slingbox rocks! And it's even more fun when you have a friend or two in other states that allow you to use their Slingbox to watch events that are blacked out in your own area. :)

Annoyingly for me no EOS 400D support as of yet. So I still can't use my RAW files. I'm sure it's coming though :(

I'm getting a really intrusive Head and Shoulders ad banner at the top of the page. Whenever your mouse pointer hovers above the banner, the banner expands, and a video automatically starts playing. This can happen quite easily when you go to click on another browser tab in Firefox/Safari/Chrome/etc.

AT&T sucks, plain & simple. They've been allowed to score big w/ their exclusive iPhone contract, and think that marketing will remedy the problem.
