I actually had to go and visit the URL to really make myself believe that someone can be this dumb. Well to each his own.
One thing I did notice was the comment "it is soon becoming the voice of rich and/or EB2 Indians only -- all other categories will either have no direct advantage with the efforts put in by IV, or they will actually see some negative effect from its activities. But that will be the case with any organization that claims to stand for a particular class. In reality, every core group will stand up for it and only itself."
Does someone care to explain this? I am EB3-ROW, I have occasionally donated and occasionally called but I don't think IV has ever HURT my case?
On a side note: just on the off chance that the comment is true and IV is truly a community of RICH Indians: can I borrow some money? :D :D The eay I look at it, if 50 of these rich, EB2 Indians give me $ 10,000 each, I can get my GC by investment and I will pay you all back in 2 years. :p

1) Removal of per-country quota: Claimed to be fair for everyone. Not really. It only helps Indians and Chinese. ROW will see a serious degradation in the time they will get their GCs. So yes, I do stand by my statement that IV is devolving into less than general purpose immigration group.

[Mr. Brown] True. If the plan B/C is not up to par with plan A then it is definitely hard to move on. Plan A (GC) gives you a grand standard of living but Plan B (India etc.) gives you a first class citizenship plus a say in the society. It's not all bad.

First they will process the applications which are cleared FP based on PD and receipt date. Always risk is there when filing without marriage. You are safe till USCIS starts process your application. When they take your application for processing then you cannot add your spouse. Also if CIR decides to process backlogs faster then also you will be in problem. Best option is if your marriage is already fixed do it within 3 months and file GC before PD is backdated. You need not file July first. You can wait till Jul15 to see next VB and decide.

I agree with you immi...I would love to have that but i believe its not practical...coz as per existing laws there are 140k employement visas alloted per year...if you are gonna use uncaptured visas from the previous years then this number would be >140k.. which would require a change in the law...with the current govt in power (inspite of the President being pro immigration),Iraq war,elections,Anti immigration sentiments before elections,etc..i donot foresee it happeneing anytime soon... my $0.02

we took ICICILombard in india itself. My father has to see the doctor for
a small procedure done on this toe. He developed because of injury as he is diabetic.
And after reading so many negative reviews i was afraid whether i will get my 1200$ claim accepted or not. As i thought diabetes is a pre-existing condition.
And we also mentioned it in the insurance policy when we took.
But surprisingly we got the claim approved by ICICI Lombard last week and we got all the money (minus 100$ deductible).
So it's better to have some kind of insurance (to be on safe side) if you think the patriot and KV Rao are expensive.

It seems like any change in the immigration system is only going to land us in a worst position than we are in....
And looking at what is happening, I think it is naive to think we can influence the system to make it better for us.
Any noise we make seems to be making our opponents solidify and press us even harder.
I know this is not an upbeat comment that every IV member seem to expect, but this has been a depressing week, in an already depressing decade. :(

Listen we are giving our hard earned money to this group, we beleive that they are the only ones fighting our cause. Can you please name one more org/group that is doing the same. The industry that includes esteemed Bill Gates wants more H1bs, no on talks about our releief. What open mind are you talking about? Get a reality check. We are not a frat house here that we are applauding each other. We want constructive criticism... e.g. if you think you are a better leader step up and say you can do x, y, z.
If you cannot give contructive critisim then the rest of us would appreciate that you don't vent ur frustrations here, because see how much harm you do by making us respond to your personal frustrations.

It's not just about the forums, this could come with a lot more benefits.
I won't be a member at all...because if we make anything mandatory and don't let people realize what we are doing...i think people won't become member...
There are so many (lazy) people who access this site and not even bother to become member...

IV is not just for Indians or for people from any one country/geographical location. Hope you would agree and do the necessary at your earliest convenience.

I completely disagree with your message here. You dont even know what the personal reason for not participating in a state chapter is. I, for one, am unable to join a state chapter, because , the nearest chapter is 400 miles and 2 states away. What good would it do to me to join something that I can never be part of. I wanted to start a state chapter here in my place, but I couldnt find any useful resources on how to do it. May be eb3_nepa has some reasons like it.
Like you said, IV is not a top-down organization, which means everyone is responsible for everyone. I dont see anything wrong with eb3_nepa's questions. He wanted to know what is going on. I am sure there are lots of people around here who has the same questions.
The Admin Fixes letter campaign was a good initiative. But, the target date got moved twice, and now I dont even know when the end date is.
May be IV should be a top-down organization. Any organization as big as IV would probably be better served with a Top Team. That team could probably elected by the community. I am confident, that most of our members wouldnt even mind spending a few extra bucks to pay a honarary amount to this team for their efforts and time. Then there will be more structure and accountability and action going on around here.
I came to know about IV pretty late. When I did learn about IV and joined IV, I was a very enthusiastic participant. Of late, I do believe IV is fading away. I dont see so many activities going on around here. Like eb3_nepa and few others said, IV is right now becoming just another Immigration portal. It is starting to lose its identity.
After doing all the hard work to gather a mass or like minded people, it will be shameful, if IV drifts away from its stated aim. So, may be it is time for every member, including core members like you to refect upon things and come up with ways to make this organization more transparent and more accessible for people like me.

This membership group will have only members whose identities have been verified. Once this group is created, IV can post all the happenings accessible to them. I just transfered H1-B to differrent company , but my old company informed the INS that he no longer worked with us. Now H1 with my current company not yet approved and i got some issues and would like to transfer to a different company.
Is it possible for me to trasnfer to a different comapny using my old H1 (where in they informed INS that he no longer works with them ) ?
