Iam july 2nd filers for I-485, I-765 and I-131 at the Nebraska Service center. Haven't seen any activity yet. called the USCIS last evening and the answer I got is still not in the system. Is there anyone who is still in the same boat? please update!

i do not know what options he has but 'ras' is not talking about 'stock options' most people are answering about. July 08 options expire on Jul 18, 2008. so people who are talking about and advising him on stock options are simply confusing this guy. this may be stocks of his company as part of a bonus or something like that. or he is just making fun of us by posting such an unrelated thing.

I also recieved "Document OTHER THAN CARD manufactured and mailed" in my mail and I am wondering if anyone with case similar to mine has any answer on this.
I applied "I130 Immigrant Petition For Relative" on Apr. 04.
What could be the message on my case?
Please advise me on what shall I expect?

I have couple of doubts whether i will be able to qualify or not, which i want to clairify.
Ofcourse i will apply in Skilled workers category, i do not have any Canada experience, so according to the official website, i might not qualify because i am not a Manager.
I do not see any option for a software engineer, Am i missing anything ?

But I guess I'm still hung up on the "suggestion" (not rule, I suppose) to have more space in the direction the subject is heading or looking than to the rear of him/her/it - especially also not to center the subject. So, I'd still crop it the same, but I should have indicated better what I was thinking (not a tight crop, which is probably what it sounded like I meant).

I and my family members have EXPIRED STUDENT VISA on the Passort. I have H-1 (H-4) approval till 2008 but no VALID VISA STAMP on our Passport.
I am planing a TRIP to INDIA in Summer. Since My I-140 is already approved and I-485 pending, I will have ADVANCE PAROLE in my hand when I visit India. I will also attempt to Get H-1B/H-4 stamp at Mumbai, while I am in India.
My question is Since I dont have any VALID VISA STAMP on my PASSPORT While going as well as in return, WHICH AIRLINE OR TRANSIT COUNTRY I SHOULD SELECT SO THAT I WILL NOT HAVE TO GET TRANSIT VISA ?

You don't need SSN to apply for a passport for a baby. PIO card takes about two weeks to process in SFO. I dont think there is any fast processing available for PIO.
Just currect your statement, SSN is mandatory for Passport issuance. Pls check the current guidelines.

My friend and I, filed our respective H1B extension in June 2007. We were both expecting only a 1-year extension since our I-140s have been pending at Nebraska SC since December 2006. He received his H1B extension approval (3 years) in October and I received mine first week of December. Despite both I-140s pending, we both got 3-year extension! We are both very happy because the ;)approval saved us a lot of money. Both of us filed I-485 in July.

It is difficult to get H1b without client letter. Also many consulting companies stopped H1b because of RFE and denials. It is a good idea to try job to 2 to 4 more weeks.
Sorry to know about your layoff. What I would suggest is try to get a Consulting company ( maybe desi ) to transfer your H1. That would give you some leeway to find a project again.

I have written on this topic many times before. Employer is required, by law, to inform USCIS about termination of employment (whether voluntary or not) and any changes in employment eligibility.

But in case of switching from H1b to EAD (while working for H1b/GC sponsoring employer), there is no termination, changes in the employee’s eligibility or change in job duties. So no requirement to cancel H1b.

i wanted to know what are the chances of a persons i40 to be denied if another with the same profile in the same team and same application is recently denied
for your information both are masters candidates and are eb2 filed
but his was file months before mine and he got audited
mine is in the process of being filed
not sure of whether this even matters and cases are indepedent
but just wanted to know ahead of time if it calls for a sure denial

It looks like Mr.Obama is Changing the wrong thing, Immigration policy badly needs an update, he needs to fix that first, cool aid wont help.If the roof is broken you need to fix roof, that should be the priority, instead painting neighbours door and putting christmas lights in summer will not fix the problem. Harvard should take his degree back.

We all know very well by now that the house of representatives is THE mover when it comes to passing any pro-legal immigration bill.Given that half of those representatives may loose their jobs in the coming election, I dont see much point in contacting them now if they have already made up their mind not to do anything on immigration until the elections. But we will have to double our efforts as soon as the new congress settles in so that our agenda gets highlighted to the new members of congress.

Philippines GC numbers are almost exclusively Schedule A (nursing etc) - 23K consumption is out of the 50K that was authorized by congress as a one time adjustment in '05 - so these no:s are over and above the yearly 140K and hence does not put Philippines in the "oversubscribed" column (go figure)...
I have a Filipino friend (non schedule A) who did the entire PERM to PERManent resident thing in 11 months... As a matter of fact he had no trouble getting accepted to HBS, Wharton, U Chic & Kellogg either... Good for him, but "Under subscription" doesn't hurt you elsewhere also.. off topic!

My brother-in-law and sister are both Indian Doctors, having a private practice in INDIA. They would like to apply for visitor's visa.
Any suggestion about the problems they may encounter? Do they have to go on two differrent dates for getting the visa stampped at Chennai?
