AabTuAgaGC, just for a reminder when you go to US consulate for H4 stamping for your spouse, you need a proper proof of marriage and that requires marriage certificate, annotaion of husbands name in wife's passport, wedding card, wedding pictures, so just marriage on paper wont do. Also please keep in mind if you are from india, different state has different rule for issuing marriage certificaten some state take a month before they issue marriage certificaten some state give the certificate in a week.Marriage act in idia is satewise and not federal. Also if your would be spouse does not have passport it wold take a couple of weeks to get Passport under tatkal service, hence before you bring in your wife to US, if you get married in Oct/Nov, it would take another month to get the appointment, get marriage certificate, passport etc. So act now otherwise you might be late.

can someone draft a template like the nurses letter to congress for us with subject "Please provider retrogression relief for Employment Based Immigrants." and the body of the letter with the provisions and proposals including "recapture of unused visas". I feel the nurses will deplete our unused visas by recapturing unused ones several times and we may not have that option anymore.

SBI....
I used ICICI for 7 years....was always ok with the serivce ...did not have anything much to complain....
I did not know about SBI service being available....a few days back someone on IV forum told me to try SBI....I tried it out....
If ICICI charged me 50 paise per dollor SBI charged only 25 paise per dollor....(come one it is not free with anyone... -;)
I used SBI twice so far.....quite happy.....more over feel glad to use a nationalised bank -:)
compared to ICICI ...on a different note....my wife opened an NRI account with ICICI 5 years back and since then I have been trying to add myself as a joint acount holder....starngely ICICI's "excellent" customer service has not yet been able to do it....:confused:....I might as well give up....lol...

3) House listing in only done by realtor. Give option to customer. For fun open a site for people to list their house for sale. Give them free service then charge. Live American way.
4) Make school in Village. I have made one. I enjoy supporting the school. Grow India.
5) Don't worry about GC. Do something. Registering a site takes some $35 or 40. Built you site. Use American brain.
Am I doing it? Yes.. Did I make money? Yes.

2006 PD filers dont worry abt spouse 485. Your PD would become available only after couple of years. My PD is Sept 2005 and I dont anticipate to get my GC within 2yrs. For reference look at the PERM data that is published, you would get a good idea.

Agree with macaca, It is not fair to expect a member to contribute the moment s/he joins.
Suggestion: IV membership should be free for the first 3 months, after which there should be a minimum $20/per month to keep your membership and log in.

Ok, with the latest developements, I have applied for my 485, EAD and AP this week. My current H1 expires in June 2008.
If I get married before June 2008, I can still bring my wife to US on dependent (H4) visa. My question is, for my wife
to be able to file for 485 then, do the visa numbers have to be current at that time? And if they do, and say the numbers are not current at that time, and then my H1 expires come June 08, will she be out of status and can she remain in US? What are our options then? How does this work??

Alot of members have fled to immigrationvoice with a hope to get their GC very quickly. Today the organization have received a final blow in its coffin when the House Judiciary Committee did'nt even look at HR5882.
Members are always been targeted for contributions for lobbyists, free lunch etc. and yet nothing concrete have been acheived by IV. I have never seen this website(immigrationportal) ask members for a single dollar yet have been just as helpful or even more helpful than IV and also this website is flame free you can express your self without fear. At IV to disagree you are a moron..(GIVING RED DOTS, ACTING LIKE A GROUP OF KINDERGARDEN KIDS, NO WONDER THE HORSE BILL WAS MARKUP AND HR5882 ISN'T)
I think its time for the chicken to come back to roost, the grass is not always greener on the other side. Save your money in this time of need and lets us make this site what it was in past before when some selfish persons seeking self gratification lure away members. The moderators of this site is to blame because they played a part in sucking up them, by deleting post that IV is not pleased of and giving aways members IP, thus in the process leaving this site to die a slow death.
I know IV hardcore members will attack this post and ask mod to delete this thread etc. They will be even more stupid to do so. (Its beter IV spend their time organizing a huge rally in Washington next year than telling their poor members to call senators and congress reps.)

My priority date is Jan 04 EB2 and I have a very good job offer. I am in dilemma whether to change the job or just wait for the PD to become current. I have recently got my H1 approval for 3 more year on the basis for 140 approval.
