The "per-country limit" is definitely unfair within the realm of employment-based immigration due to the outdated and irrelevant law which needs reform. However skewing this to make it a civil rights issue is pushing it a bit too much.

The above is a fact, not my opinion. Therefore, No - I do not agree that your reasoning has any direct parallel to our case since the correct approach and reasoning involves challenging a Supreme Court Ruling on Article 1 of the Constitution, which you would agree is next to impossible.
There are far too many points here to address at one go. Let me touch upon this for starters:

There is not much we can do. From Greg's yesterday's latest response that there were very few which were returned/rejected on July 2nd itself and this thread proves that we are not alone ...there are so many and status is unknown. Matthew Oh is also suggesting that it will be receipted. I think we are all safe and with time we will get receipt. Nobody...none of the attorney's are suggesting refiling. Now the thought that whether my packet was properly filed or not? I think that will always be there in the back of one's mind but if the attorney has done his/her job correctly I think we should not worry. Its not rocket science and documents required for filing are well known...so I would discount this risk. It appears we are all safe because as we all know that no rejection notices have been generated, packets if returned should have come back by now as per Greg....All in all it all points towards our packets being on hold there at respective centers....but as you rightly pointed out..towards the last week of July keep calling centers to know..but even before that keep eye on check clearing as that by far is the best and earliest clue that all is well with the case.

Good job in starting this thread. I got frustrated like this a few months ago for the same reasons that you & the other members have mentioned here; it definitely resonates with mine. So, recently I have decided to move to Australia by applying for a PR and plan to be there for a few years before eventually moving back home.
This is what I'm doing right now:
[1] Working on my PMP cert. [2] Will be starting a business outfit in Chennai shortly, by the end of this year.
Come on fellas, all of us in this thread are so capable of achieving great things. Please don�t let something like this stop you from achieving what you are truly capable of. Good post I like it and I probably may follow most of these eventually but, if I think about it, it seems to me lot of stress. Maintaining records from past ten (GC)/fifteen (Citizenship) years is certainly a stressful activity. Except education certificates I never cared for anything in my home country. In spite of taking care of all this, if you get involved in an unfortunate event everything GC/Citizenship goes into vain and back to square one.
I am not trying to discourage or depress any one. It�s just a thought.

Maintaining detailed documentation can be a big pain in you-know-where, particularly if I am asked to do it suddenly today (believe me, I am one of the world's leading disorganized blokes). Instead, if I begin to get organized early, the process eventually becomes incremental and stress-free. That is what I wanted to share here, the idea of getting organized early to have a smoother passage of time later (much like invest-today-afford-later philosophy). Unfortunate events are unpredictable, but that should not mean I ignore what I can control :)

All our I485 applications had a soft LUD of today. Recently I applied EAD for my son and it got approved within 15 days. One of my friends got LUD and later (after 2 days) a Hard LUD that they sent an RFE. Our SC is Nebraska. some of my friends also had got Soft LUD 2 weeks before but no change inside... Not sure what is awaiting us. Hopefully its all pre-adjudication. Any insights will be highly appreciated.

Yes! on IV you are supposed to say only good things about IV (though IV is "grass-root" non-profit) but no free speech here :confused:

Are we sure that consular processing dates are mirror of AOS bulletin?
I am sure it is, I am a CP candidate, till now AOS dates mirrored CP dates and vice versa, so this time also it has to be true!!! Usually consulates get the dates b4hand from DOS, as they have to schedule interviews. I hope I'll be scheduled for the interview this april.

Did you keep new filing fee also? When I spoke to custumer service by 800 number call, she said you have to keep new check and original sealed medical along with duplicat filing.Wish you all the best!
Same as me :D but for the fact that I sent in mine without medical. What do you guys think the chances are of USCIS sending an RFE instead of rejecting the application outright?
Btw..I did "re-file" with completed medical yesterday. I am just hoping they accept my July 2 app. to avail, if any, advantages of RD.

Just curious. Why do you claim ROW is receiving preferential treatment over India when all the countries get the same upper limit of the visas. Now if the Indians ask for more visas just because there are more Indians asking for green cards, wouldn't that be preferential treatment?.
I wouldn�t say ROW is receiving preferential treatment, but they are in an advantageous position due to their representation. I don�t think there will ever be a consensus on the quota issue, both ROW and India/China applicants come up with their own arguments supporting their stand on it.
Personally I think recapturing unused visas will decrease the wait time for India/China applicants without affecting ROW applicants. There won�t be any need to remove quota limits.
And I agree with rajeshalex that this thread needs to be closed. the counter arguments are getting more confusing...

USCIS should produce a rule saying that if they are x number of employees, then all the employees should have a company email id as mandatory, In that case they will be no issue at all, every thing will be clear and accurate to one and all in the company with any issue.

Those who buy lotteries wish to spend least possible amount of money for a chance to win an insanely large sum of money - for e.g. spend $10 to win $10 million. Idea is prize money should make the money spent feel ridiculously low ( it doesn't matter if chances of winning are lower than getting struck by lightning ! ). How can this be worked out in the IV scenario?
